​Our client, a leading energy and commodities trading organisation, is seeking an experienced Head of Trading Systems to lead and manage their ETRM and trading technology function. This is a senior, strategic role with responsibility for ensuring the delivery, optimisation, and innovation of trading systems across the business.

As Head of Trading Systems, you will report directly to the CTO / COO and have overall accountability for the ETRM platform landscape, trading systems roadmap, and operational excellence in trading technology.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead, mentor, and manage a team of ETRM analysts, developers, and support staff.

• Own the strategy and delivery of the firm’s trading and risk systems, including ETRM platforms (e.g., Endur, Allegro, Molecule, or similar).

• Partner with business stakeholders to define system requirements, enhancements, and integrations.

• Ensure the reliability, scalability, and compliance of trading systems in a high-volume trading environment.

• Oversee system upgrades, implementations, and ongoing support, ensuring minimal disruption to trading operations.

• Manage vendor relationships and system contracts effectively.

• Develop and maintain governance, risk, and control frameworks for trading systems.
  

Requirements / Candidate Profile:

• Proven experience in ETRM / trading systems management within energy or commodities markets.

• Strong understanding of trading workflows, risk management, and commodity markets.

• Experience leading medium-to-large teams of business analysts, developers, and system support staff.

• Demonstrable experience delivering ETRM projects end-to-end, including system upgrades and vendor management.

• Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.

• Strong strategic mindset with a track record of improving systems efficiency, risk management, and operational performance.
