Power & Gas Analyst, Fundamental – London

A leading and forward-thinking Bank is looking for a Senior/Lead Analyst to join their team. This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment, analysing Power & Gas and Products markets, supporting optimising trading strategies, and contributing to the this PnL driven desk.

The ideal candidate will have management experience and have both Gas and Power experience.

Key Responsibilities:

• Analyse UK and European markets, identifying trends, risks, and opportunities.

• Develop and maintain forecasting models for demand, generation, and pricing.

• Support Power & Gas trading activities with real-time insights and data-driven recommendations.

• Monitor regulatory and policy developments impacting the energy sector.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance data analytics and reporting tools.
  

What They’re Looking For:

• Strong analytical skills with experience in data modelling, coding (Python/R/SQL), or Oil system analytics.

• Knowledge of UK and European Power & Gas markets, including trading mechanisms and regulations.

• 5+ years of fundamental Power & Gas analytics experience

• Proficiency in working with large datasets and visualisation tools (e.g., Power BI).

• A proactive mindset, keen attention to detail, and the ability to communicate insights effectively.

• A degree in a relevant field (e.g., Engineering, Economics, Mathematics, or similar).
