Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Operations & Maintenance (O&M) Solar Technician for Commercial & Industrial (C&I) solar PV projects. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in preventive and corrective maintenance and strong proficiency in troubleshooting both Central and String Inverters. The role involves ensuring maximum plant availability, performance, and compliance with safety and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities Operations & Maintenance
Perform routine preventive and corrective maintenance of C&I solar PV plants
Monitor plant performance and analyze generation data to identify faults and losses
Conduct string-level checks, IV curve analysis, and thermography (if applicable)
Ensure timely breakdown resolution to minimize downtime
Inverter & Electrical Troubleshooting
Troubleshoot and repair Central and String Inverters (SMA, ABB, Huawei, Sungrow, etc.)
Diagnose inverter alarms, communication faults, DC/AC issues, and grid-related faults
Perform inverter firmware updates and parameter configuration
Handle LV/MV electrical systems, including panels, breakers, transformers, and cabling
Monitoring & Reporting
Use SCADA and monitoring platforms to track plant performance
Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly O&M and generation reports
Maintain maintenance logs, fault reports, and compliance documentation
Safety & Compliance
Follow electrical safety procedures, LOTO, and PPE requirements
Ensure compliance with local electrical codes, OEM guidelines, and company SOPs
Participate in safety audits and toolbox talks
Coordination
Coordinate with site engineers, asset managers, OEMs, and vendors
Support warranty claims and OEM service activities
Assist in site mobilization and commissioning support if required
Required Skills & Qualifications: Technical Skills
Strong knowledge of solar PV systems (C&I scale)
Proven expertise in Central and String Inverter troubleshooting
Understanding of DC/AC systems, protection systems, and grid connectivity
Experience with SCADA, data loggers, and plant monitoring tools
Ability to read electrical drawings, SLDs, and layout diagrams
