Site Manager – Utility-Scale Solar PV Project (Scotland)

Project Overview

A large-scale renewable energy developer is seeking an experienced Site Manager for the execution of a ~70 MWp ground-mounted solar PV project located near Dundee, Scotland.

Role Overview

The Site Manager will act as the on-site representative of the owner, overseeing EPC and subcontractor activities during the construction phase. The role requires strong coordination skills, technical oversight, and strict adherence to HSE, quality, and schedule targets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee and coordinate construction activities across multiple subcontractors on-site

  • Monitor progress, resources, and timelines; proactively mitigate delays and shortages

  • Represent the project owner on-site and ensure alignment with project processes and reporting standards

  • Participate in weekly progress meetings and validate contractor reporting

  • Ensure full compliance with HSE regulations and promote a strong safety culture

  • Support quality inspections, documentation, and resolution of non-conformance reports

  • Contribute to construction planning and continuous improvement initiatives

  • Utilize integrated project management and lean construction software for transparent reporting

  • Report directly to the internal Project Manager and Head of Construction

Candidate Profile

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience managing construction of renewable energy projects, preferably utility-scale solar PV

  • Strong understanding of civil, electrical, and mechanical construction processes

  • Proven leadership experience managing subcontractors and site teams

  • Experience working closely with project management and stakeholder teams

  • Familiarity with structured construction workflows and digital project management tools

  • Process-driven, solution-oriented, and collaborative working style

  • Fluent in English; additional language skills are a plus

  • Valid driver’s license
