The Mandate

  • Strategy Execution: Full P&L responsibility for proprietary trading strategies across the CWE region, specifically focusing on Germany, France, and the Benelux markets.

  • Market Focus: Trade the curve from Front-Month through to the Front-Year, utilizing both discretionary and systematic approaches.

  • Flow-Based Analysis: Leverage expert knowledge of Flow-Based Market Coupling (FBMC) to identify and capture arbitrage opportunities and price convergences.

  • Risk Management: Manage large-scale exposure and Greeks within a rigorous VaR-based risk framework, ensuring a high Sharpe ratio.

  • Collaboration: Work alongside a dedicated team of quantitative analysts and meteorologists to refine fundamental supply/demand models and execution tools.

Candidate Requirements

  • Experience: Minimum of 7 years in European Power trading, with at least 4 years of proven success specifically within the CWE markets.

  • Technical Skills: Strong quantitative mindset. Proficiency in Python or SQL is highly preferred for data analysis and back-testing strategies.

  • Market Depth: Comprehensive understanding of the European energy transition, including renewables penetration, thermal merit orders, and cross-border flow dynamics.

  • Academic Background: Master’s degree in Mathematics, Physics, Engineering, Economics, or a related quantitative field.
