About the Role

A leading player in the renewable energy sector is seeking a Senior Grid Connection Manager to oversee and manage all aspects of grid connection for utility-scale solar PV and battery storage (BESS) projects across Germany. In this high-impact role, you will be responsible for managing the full lifecycle of grid connection processes – from early-stage feasibility through to energisation – ensuring timely, compliant, and cost-effective connection of renewable energy assets to the German grid. This is a remote position, with flexibility around location within Germany. Occasional travel to project sites and TSO/DSO meetings may be required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead grid connection for large-scale solar PV and BESS projects across Germany

  • Manage connection applications, negotiations, and approvals with TSOs (e.g. 50Hertz, TenneT, Amprion, TransnetBW) and DSOs

  • Assess grid capacity and feasibility at project sites

  • Prepare and submit technical documentation for grid applications

  • Oversee grid timelines and budgets across multiple projects

Requirements

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems, Renewable Energy, or related field.

  • Minimum 5+ years of experience managing grid connection processes for utility-scale renewable energy projects in Germany.

  • Proven experience with Solar PV and ideally Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS).

  • In-depth knowledge of German grid infrastructure and regulatory environment.

  • Familiarity with the requirements of TSOs and DSOs including grid code compliance and application procedures.

  • Strong project management skills and the ability to handle multiple grid processes in parallel.

  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, both in German and English.

  • Proficiency in power systems software tools (e.g., PSS®E, DIgSILENT PowerFactory) is a plus.
