​Head of Grid Connection – Renewable Energy

Location: Berlin (Hybrid)

A leading renewable energy developer is looking for a Head of Grid Connection to manage all grid-related activities across wind, solar, and battery storage projects.

Role Responsibilities

• Lead and develop the grid connection team.

• Create cost-effective grid connection solutions for onshore wind, PV, and BESS.

• Plan and design substations, transformer stations, and cable networks.

• Prepare technical specs and tender documents.

• Manage applications and approvals with DSOs/TSOs.

• Carry out grid calculations and evaluate connection concepts.

• Oversee substation projects, commissioning, and certification.

• Coordinate with grid operators, service providers, and internal teams.

• Report regularly to technical leadership.

Your Profile

• Degree in electrical engineering or similar, or strong relevant experience.

• Experience leading technical teams.

• Solid understanding of grid connection planning and HV systems.

• Strong network within DSOs/TSOs.

• Experience with grid calculation software (e.g., PowerFactory, PSS SINCAL).
