Job Description

  • Design and deliver electrical systems for high, medium, and low voltage substations, automation, and power distribution projects from concept through to construction and handover.

  • Work closely with internal teams, clients, and suppliers to ensure designs are technically sound, compliant, and practical for installation while meeting project timelines and quality standards.

Responsibilities

  • Design HV and MV substations, control and protection systems, and automation solutions.

  • Produce engineering drawings and panel designs using Eplan and AutoCAD.

  • Develop logic diagrams, trip tables, system schematics, panel layouts, and Functional Design Specifications.

  • Carry out protection studies using ETAP and configure protection and communication devices.

  • Prepare signal lists, material take-offs, and equipment requisitions.

  • Review electrical specifications and project scope, identifying risks or gaps in design documentation.

  • Work with operations teams to ensure designs are practical, buildable, and maintainable.

  • Attend project meetings with internal teams, clients, and suppliers, maintaining clear communication.

  • Support procurement processes, track equipment approvals and deliveries, and verify received equipment.

  • Produce tender, construction, as-built drawings, and O&M manuals with accurate document control.

  • Liaise with suppliers and stakeholders to support installation, commissioning, and project handover.

  • Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, legislative, and quality management requirements.

Requirements

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering.

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in electrical design, preferably within HV/MV systems or substations.

  • Strong understanding of electrical specifications, schematics, and technical drawings.

  • Experience with design software such as Eplan, AutoCAD, and ETAP.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and strong written and verbal communication skills.
