Business Development Manager – Green Energy
Our client is a well-established and growing business operating within the construction and utilities sector, with a strong and increasing focus on Green Energy solutions, including EV charging infrastructure, solar and battery projects.
Due to continued growth, they are now looking to appoint an experienced Business Development Manager to play a key role in expanding their customer base, strengthening client relationships and supporting long-term business success.
The Role
Reporting directly to the Managing Director, the Business Development Manager will be responsible for identifying and developing new business opportunities across the Northwest and wider UK. You will work closely with internal Sales and Design teams to deliver sales targets while maintaining excellent relationships with existing key clients.
This role would suit a commercially driven professional who enjoys building relationships, spotting opportunities and working within a collaborative, fast-moving environment.
Key responsibilities
Identifying and developing new business opportunities in line with agreed targets
Proactively generating sales leads using platforms such as Glenigan and industry websites
Managing and developing a portfolio of key accounts to drive repeat business
Liaising closely with the Design team to ensure quotations are issued within agreed timescales
Delivering sales presentations to internal and external stakeholders
Monitoring competitor activity and market trends
Supporting marketing and promotional activity, including events, case studies and social media
Producing customer analysis reports and monthly sales performance updates for Directors
Liaising with Commercial and Finance teams regarding payment terms and credit checks
Maintaining accurate CRM records and following up outstanding quotations
Candidate requirements
Experience
Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a Business Development or Sales role
Experience within construction, utilities or infrastructure is advantageous but not essential
Proven track record of managing customer accounts and developing long-term relationships
B2B sales experience with some technical exposure preferred
