Job description
Logistics Manager
Location: Site based – Milan, Italy
Reports to: Construction Manager
Key Responsibilities:
Report directly to the Senior Project Manager.
Oversee logistics through project assignments, resource coordination, and prioritization of tasks.
Track and review inventory reconciliation processes to identify risks, manage obsolete stock, and allocate reserves effectively.
Actively monitor system connections with external suppliers, identifying and resolving errors that could affect product movement.
Collaborate with all site stakeholder teams to understand business needs, implement new procedures, and support continuous process improvements.
Address and resolve site project challenges, coordinating escalation when necessary.
Work with the HSE Team to address and resolve site safety or operational issues.
Partner with the construction team to oversee training for full-time and contract staff and uphold logistics best practices across all sites.
Identify inefficiencies to streamline processes and minimize excess materials.
Continuously improve and refine logistics procedures in line with industry best practices and analytical standards.
Plan and coordinate the movement and storage of construction materials and equipment.
Ensure timely delivery of materials to site to prevent project delays.
Collaborate with suppliers, vendors, and subcontractors to optimize logistics processes.
Supervise transportation scheduling and routing for materials and personnel.
Work closely with project managers, site engineers, and procurement teams to ensure seamless operations.
Design and execute site logistics plans to enhance workflow efficiency.
Maintain organized and easily accessible storage areas.
Ensure all logistics activities comply with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
Obtain necessary permits for transporting materials and accessing the site.
Manage logistics budgets, monitoring expenses related to transportation and storage.
Identify opportunities to reduce costs while maintaining operational efficiency.
Skills and Qualifications:
RSPP certification desired.
First Aid desired
Technical Lifting experience is desired.
Experience in handling and management of subcontractors and suppliers in all aspects
Ability to work with logistics and construction teams to maintain delivery schedule.
Ability to communicate at all levels.
Good English knowledge
Must be hands on with strong change environment nature, ability to embed continuous improvement initiatives.
Ensure Health, Safety and Quality is at the forefront on daily activity.
Good knowledge and practical experience of planning and organizing deliveries to/from sites
