They are now seeking a Head of Key & Strategic Accounts to lead a team of Senior Account Managers and Account Managers responsible for managing high-value enterprise clients. This is a hands-on leadership role where you will drive growth, retention, and customer satisfaction across a portfolio of major UK businesses, ensuring your clients achieve both commercial and sustainability goals.

Your Mission

As Head of Key & Strategic Accounts, you will combine leadership with direct client engagement to deliver results for both your team and your portfolio of strategic customers.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Foster a collaborative, high-performance, and customer-focused culture.

  • Coach and develop your team’s commercial, technical, and relationship management skills.

  • Support recruitment, onboarding, and succession planning within the team.

Sales & Commercial Performance

  • Manage and grow your own portfolio of large, complex accounts while guiding your team in theirs.

  • Oversee sales of electricity supply and energy solutions, including fixed, flexible, and value-added contracts.

  • Develop tailored commercial propositions aligned with customer needs and commercial objectives.

  • Manage end-to-end sales processes from pipeline development to contract negotiation and closure.

  • Meet or exceed sales, margin, and customer satisfaction targets.

Customer Relationship Management

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key strategic customers and stakeholders.

  • Act as a trusted advisor, supporting customers in achieving energy efficiency and decarbonisation goals.

  • Identify and deliver value-added services, including renewable energy options, on-site generation, and demand-side response.

  • Ensure excellent customer experience through proactive engagement, problem resolution, and partnership.

Strategic & Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Collaborate with Pricing, Risk, Legal, and Operations teams to develop competitive and compliant offers.

  • Provide market insight and customer feedback to inform product development and improvement initiatives.

  • Contribute to the development of sector-specific strategies and represent the team in governance and performance reviews.

Your Profile

Essential Skills & Experience:

  • Proven track record of leading sales or account management teams within the UK energy sector, ideally supporting large commercial or industrial clients.

  • Strong understanding of energy markets, contract types, and risk management principles.

  • Success in negotiating complex commercial agreements and achieving ambitious sales targets.

  • Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

  • Ability to coach, inspire, and develop high-performing teams.

  • Strategic, data-driven, and customer-centric mindset.

  • Comfortable in a fast-paced, dynamic, performance-focused environment.

Desirable Experience:

  • Familiarity with decarbonisation solutions, such as renewable PPAs, energy efficiency, on-site generation, and demand-side response.

  • Experience working in regulated or compliance-driven markets.

  • Degree in Business, Energy, or related field (or equivalent experience).

Why This Role is Exciting

  • Lead a high-impact team delivering energy solutions that drive sustainability for major UK businesses.

  • Shape customer strategies in a rapidly evolving energy market.

  • Influence both team performance and commercial growth at the enterprise level.

  • Join a company that values collaboration, innovation, and continuous learning.

  • Be part of the UK’s energy transition, helping businesses achieve Net Zero goals while driving commercial success.
