​Freelance Project Developer – Renewable Energy (Germany)

We are seeking an experienced Freelance Project Developer to support the early-stage development of renewable energy projects across Germany. This role will play a critical part in building a high-quality pipeline, with a strong focus on project origination, site acquisition, and grid connection activities.

Key Responsibilities

• Identify and secure new development opportunities across battery storage (BESS), wind, solar, and hybrid projects

• Lead early-stage development activities including site identification, land agreements, and grid connection processes

• Establish and manage relationships with landowners, utilities, grid operators, local authorities, and development partners

• Support projects through feasibility, permitting strategy, and early development milestones

• Contribute to project viability assessments and support commercial and technical workstreams

• Monitor market, regulatory, and policy developments in Germany
  

Requirements

• Experience in renewable energy project development

• Strong understanding of early-stage development, including land and grid acquisition

• Experience with German permitting and planning processes

• Proven track record working with TSOs/DSOs and grid connection procedures

• Experience in BESS and/or large-scale renewable energy projects

• Strong stakeholder management and negotiation skills

• Self-driven, proactive, and able to operate independently in a dynamic environment

• Fluent in German and English
