The Role
Our client, a clean energy developer is seeking a Field Inspection Engineer to join its Diligence & Remediation team. This group evaluates operating solar assets, supports acquisition diligence, identifies remediation needs, and oversees corrective work. The role blends field inspections, data analysis, and design review, working closely with internal teams and third-party engineering partners.
Key Responsibilities
Review designs and performance of operating solar and storage systems
Conduct site audits covering structural, electrical, and installation quality
Analyze production data and troubleshoot performance issues
Perform testing (thermal imaging, insulation resistance, commissioning support)
Review PV production models (e.g., PVSyst, Helioscope)
Direct and coordinate external inspection and engineering partners
Qualifications
Field experience in solar construction, quality, O&M, or engineering
Strong understanding of PV systems, inverters, DAS, and communications
Ability to read civil, structural, and electrical drawings (LV/MV)
Detail-oriented with strong written and verbal communication skills
Comfortable using Microsoft Office and project management tools
Willingness to travel up to ~25%
Engineering degree or equivalent hands-on experience preferred
