​🔌 We’re Hiring: Protection Applications Design Engineer (Protection and Control)

We’re seeking an experienced Protection Applications Design Engineer to deliver protection design services across 11kV–132kV distribution networks.

⚡ Role Overview

You’ll design and integrate feeder, transformer and busbar protection schemes (11kV, 20kV, 33kV, 66kV & 132kV), including customer interface protection, SCADA integration, metering and power quality monitoring.

Projects include asset replacement, network reinforcement, smart grid upgrades, diversions, and new demand/generation connections.

Key Responsibilities:

• Produce protection, tripping logic & connection diagrams

• Specify CTs/VTs, relay panels & cabling

• Develop relay settings & IEC61850/DNP3 files

• Apply UK protection standards (ENATS, TPS, BEBS, Elexon)

• Use MicroStation V8i and/or AutoCAD

• Support FAT, testing & commissioning

• Interface with customers & stakeholders

• Deliver to time, cost & quality targets

Requirements:

• Strong protection design experience (11kV–132kV)

• Advanced CAD skills

• Experience integrating into live operational systems

• Ability to obtain operational substation authorisations
