Job description
Job Role: Structural Loads Engineer – Offshore Wind
We’re looking for a technically strong professional to lead structural load workstreams in early-phase offshore wind projects. You'll collaborate across disciplines, manage technical scopes, and drive innovations that reduce LCOE.
What You’ll Do
Lead load-related workstreams in early-stage offshore wind projects
Collaborate with teams: Primary Structures, WTG, Geotechnical, Metocean, TPMs, and Principal Engineers
Evaluate turbine and support structure loading
Plan and coordinate technical tasks and resources
Conduct due diligence with turbine OEMs
Maintain strong supplier and partner relationships
Align technical needs with project goals
Own and manage key contract documents (e.g., Employer’s Requirements in Polarion)
Resolve issues related to structural integrity, upgrades, and life extension
Support operational teams with technical expertise
Own one or more TA3 areas in Structural Loads
Identify new technical scopes and innovation opportunities
Share lessons learned across projects
Develop methods to reduce LCOE
What You Bring
7+ years’ experience in aeroelasticity and structural dynamics of offshore wind turbines
Experience working on large, complex projects
Technical Knowledge
Offshore wind turbine and support structure design
Wind turbine aerodynamics, structural dynamics, hydrodynamics, and geotechnics
Load-control strategies and turbine control systems
Aeroelastic modeling
Load validation using measurement data
Education
M.Sc. or Ph.D. in engineering or a scientific discipline
Project management education is a plus
