Job description

About Our Client

Our client is a specialist electrical engineering provider delivering low and medium voltage solutions across project delivery, maintenance, and technical fault resolution. Their work supports critical electrical infrastructure where reliability, safety, and strong technical capability are essential.

About the Role

Due to a growing portfolio of work, our client is seeking a qualified and experienced Electrician or Electrical Engineer to step into a Technical Lead role. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys remaining hands-on while taking greater ownership of technical decisions, site leadership, and delivery outcomes. It offers increased responsibility and influence compared to a purely trade-based or engineering support role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead LV and MV electrical works across small projects and maintenance activities

  • Provide technical leadership, fault-finding, and decision-making for switchgear and associated systems

  • Act as the primary technical point of contact for customers and internal teams

  • Support planning, coordination, and execution of works on site

  • Ensure all activities comply with safety, quality, and regulatory standards

  • Mentor and support less experienced electricians and engineers

  • Contribute to improving delivery methods as the business continues to grow

Qualifications

  • Qualified Electrician or Electrical Engineer

Required Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience working with LV and MV switchgear

  • Willingness to take ownership of technical outcomes rather than follow instructions alone

  • Confidence leading by example in a site-based environment

  • Strong communication skills with customers and colleagues

  • Practical problem-solver who enjoys variety and responsibility

Preferred Background

  • Electrician or Electrical Engineer with strong switchgear-focused experience
