About the Client

Our client is a leading UK infrastructure company delivering critical utility and infrastructure programmes. They specialise in partnering with public and private sector organisations to deliver essential services, optimising assets, and driving strategic growth across the sector.

They are looking for a Strategic Partnerships Manager to join their senior team, someone who can hit the ground running, bring deep sector knowledge, and drive high‑value commercial opportunities with full autonomy.

Role Overview

The Strategic Partnerships Manager will take ownership of developing and managing strategic relationships with ICP organisations, utilities, government bodies, and delivery partners. This is a senior role requiring industry experience, commercial acumen, and the ability to operate independently, shaping and executing growth strategies from day one.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify, develop, and manage high-value partnerships aligned with client growth objectives.

  • Lead end-to-end business development initiatives, from opportunity identification to deal closure.

  • Build strong relationships with senior stakeholders across utilities, government, and strategic partners.

  • Develop compelling commercial propositions that deliver value to both partners and the organisation.

  • Negotiate, structure, and manage contracts and partnerships independently.

  • Provide market intelligence and strategic recommendations based on sector trends, regulatory changes, and competitor activity.

  • Collaborate with internal teams (Operations, Delivery, Legal, Finance) to ensure smooth mobilisation of partnerships.

  • Track and report on key performance metrics for partnership and business development activity.

What They’re Looking For

Experience & Skills

  • Proven business development or strategic partnerships experience within the UK infrastructure, utilities, or energy sectors.

  • Strong network and credibility across industry stakeholders.

  • Demonstrable success in securing high-value deals and strategic alliances.

  • Excellent negotiation, influencing, and executive stakeholder management skills.

  • Commercially minded, with strong analytical and financial acumen.

Personal Attributes

  • Immediate impact: able to hit the ground running with minimal supervision.

  • Strategic thinker with the ability to operate independently and take full ownership of outcomes.

  • Confident communicator with gravitas to engage at senior/executive levels.

  • Proactive, results-oriented, and highly autonomous.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, or related discipline.

  • Professional qualifications (e.g., MBA, CMI, APMP) desirable but not essential.

What They Offer

  • Full autonomy in shaping and delivering the role’s objectives.

  • Competitive salary and performance-linked bonus.

  • Flexible working arrangements.

  • Opportunity to play a pivotal role in the growth of a fast-scaling infrastructure business
