Our client, a fast-growing European clean energy company is expanding into Germany, Europe’s largest electricity market. The company has a strong track record in large-scale battery storage and aims to integrate renewable generation assets over time.

As Senior Project Development Manager, you will be part of an entrepreneurial team driving market entry and growth in Germany, covering both greenfield development and M&A.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and manage the project pipeline and identify new opportunities across BESS, wind, solar, and hybrid assets

• Secure grid connections, relevant sites, and permits, managing relationships with local stakeholders including TSOs/DSOs, municipalities, and landowners

• Lead project development tasks from interconnection and permitting through ready-to-build and construction start

• Support project business case validation, financial modeling, procurement, and project financing negotiations

• Manage tender processes and M&A opportunities

• Contribute to strategic planning in Germany, identifying new market opportunities in a dynamic regulatory environment

Profile

• 5–10 years of experience in large-scale renewable energy project development (developer, IPP, or grid operator experience), BESS experience highly advantageous

• Strong understanding of German permitting, planning, and grid connection processes

• Master’s degree in engineering or business administration; specialization in renewable energy, environment, or project management a plus

• Proven track record with German TSOs/DSOs, interconnection requests, and technical compliance

• Strong analytical, organizational, and interpersonal skills

• Self-driven, solution-oriented, reliable, and ethical

• Fluent in German and English; additional languages a plus
