Job description
We are a specialist organisation that brings together engineering design capability and hands-on construction expertise to deliver projects across the UK’s water, energy, and environmental sectors.
As part of a new long-term framework agreement, we will play a leading role in a programme worth several billion pounds, focused on improving infrastructure in the North West of England. This includes modernising wastewater treatment facilities and tackling storm overflow discharges, ultimately safeguarding hundreds of kilometres of rivers and coastal areas.
We are now looking for a Senior Electrical Engineer to help drive these improvements. In this role, you will shape projects that directly benefit communities and the natural environment. You will be involved at every stage of delivery, from early feasibility and detailed design through to construction support and commissioning, ensuring vital systems continue to operate efficiently and sustainably.
Key responsibilities
Develop and review electrical designs for water and wastewater treatment systems, covering equipment such as motor control centres, low-voltage distribution, cabling, instrumentation, PLCs, SCADA, and industrial networks.
Prepare specifications and technical schedules for procurement, as well as assess supplier proposals and submissions.
Provide guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and graduates, helping them build confidence and technical expertise.
Apply industry standards and contribute to continuous improvement of internal design practices.
Build strong, collaborative relationships with clients to support the successful delivery of their goals.
What we’re looking for
Degree-qualified in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent discipline)
Professional registration (Chartered/ Incorporated) with an engineering institution, or the ability to demonstrate equivalent experience
Full driving licence and flexibility to travel to operational sites within the region
What we offer
Competitive salary reflective of your skills and experience
Pension scheme with employer contributions up to 7%
Flexible holiday options including buy, sell, and carry-over
Health and wellbeing benefits such as life assurance, private medical cover, critical illness protection, and health screening
Enhanced family-friendly policies including maternity, paternity, adoption, and shared parental leave
Support with professional fees and ongoing development
Discounts on gym memberships, travel season tickets, cycle-to-work scheme, and dining
