Job description
A leading infrastructure and energy services organisation is seeking an experienced Quality Management Advisor to support the delivery of major electrical infrastructure and energy projects across the UK.
This role will focus on ensuring compliance with ISO 9001 quality management standards, supporting project teams during both the tendering and construction phases, and promoting best practice across large-scale engineering and infrastructure programmes.
The successful candidate will work closely with project managers, contractors and senior leadership to ensure robust quality management systems are implemented and maintained across complex technical projects.
Key Responsibilities
Provide expert guidance on quality management systems and ISO 9001 compliance across engineering and infrastructure projects
Support project teams during tender preparation and delivery phases to ensure quality standards are embedded from the outset
Contribute to the development, review and implementation of company procedures and quality processes
Plan and deliver internal quality audits in line with agreed audit schedules, producing reports and supporting corrective actions
Monitor project compliance with quality standards, contractual requirements and industry regulations
Support project managers in reviewing quality documentation, procedures and project deliverables
Deliver quality management system inductions and training for project teams and subcontractors
Support investigations into quality issues and identify root causes and improvement actions
Conduct supplier and subcontractor quality reviews, including external audits and performance inspections
Ensure materials, equipment certification and calibration records are maintained in line with project requirements
Assist with preparation of project quality records and final documentation packs
Support external audits from third-party certification bodies
Candidate Requirements
Essential
HNC or equivalent qualification in Quality Management, Engineering, Construction or Project Management
Professional membership of a recognised quality body (e.g. Chartered Quality Institute) or working towards chartered status
Proven experience managing quality management systems within construction or infrastructure projects
Experience auditing against ISO 9001:2015 standards
Knowledge of UK CDM Regulations (2015)
Experience conducting internal audits and root cause analysis
Strong stakeholder engagement skills across project teams, contractors and clients
Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to project sites
Desirable
Experience auditing against ISO 14001 and ISO 45001
Knowledge of additional industry standards such as ISO 55001, ISO 44001 or ISO 19650 frameworks
Experience working on projects across sectors such as transport, energy, defence, manufacturing or major infrastructure
Strong planning, communication and reporting skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and project documentation systems
