Overview

We are seeking a Project Manager with high-voltage (HV) substation experience to support a portfolio of electrical transmission line and substation construction projects. This role requires a driven, detail-oriented professional with strong communication skills, sound financial acumen, and the ability to manage complex utility infrastructure projects from planning through execution.

Utility experience is a strong plus.


Key Responsibilities

  • Provide full project and program management across HV transmission and substation construction projects

  • Manage and coordinate direct and subcontracted project staff

  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with utility clients and project stakeholders

  • Interface with public and private agencies, vendors, and regulatory bodies

  • Promote and enforce a strong safety and quality culture across all project phases

  • Anticipate, identify, and resolve design, constructability, scheduling, and regulatory challenges

  • Support subcontractor oversight, procurement coordination, and material planning

  • Monitor permitting, real estate, and regulatory activities against the project schedule

  • Track field progress and align construction activities with overall project timelines

  • Support budget, cost control, and schedule management across overhead, underground, and substation scopes

  • Collaborate with Senior Project Managers, Project Engineers, and Construction Coordinators to drive execution

Qualifications

  • HV substation experience required (utility experience strongly preferred)

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent technical experience

  • 7 or more years of project management experience, including

    3+ years managing major EPC or utility construction projects

  • Experience supporting transmission line and substation projects (engineering, procurement, construction)

  • Strong working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and Primavera

  • Demonstrated ability to lead, coordinate, and mentor members of a construction management team

  • Ongoing professional development, certifications, or technical training preferred
