Overview
We are seeking a Project Manager with high-voltage (HV) substation experience to support a portfolio of electrical transmission line and substation construction projects. This role requires a driven, detail-oriented professional with strong communication skills, sound financial acumen, and the ability to manage complex utility infrastructure projects from planning through execution.
Utility experience is a strong plus.
Key Responsibilities
Provide full project and program management across HV transmission and substation construction projects
Manage and coordinate direct and subcontracted project staff
Build and maintain strong working relationships with utility clients and project stakeholders
Interface with public and private agencies, vendors, and regulatory bodies
Promote and enforce a strong safety and quality culture across all project phases
Anticipate, identify, and resolve design, constructability, scheduling, and regulatory challenges
Support subcontractor oversight, procurement coordination, and material planning
Monitor permitting, real estate, and regulatory activities against the project schedule
Track field progress and align construction activities with overall project timelines
Support budget, cost control, and schedule management across overhead, underground, and substation scopes
Collaborate with Senior Project Managers, Project Engineers, and Construction Coordinators to drive execution
Qualifications
HV substation experience required (utility experience strongly preferred)
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent technical experience
7 or more years of project management experience, including
3+ years managing major EPC or utility construction projects
Experience supporting transmission line and substation projects (engineering, procurement, construction)
Strong working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and Primavera
Demonstrated ability to lead, coordinate, and mentor members of a construction management team
Ongoing professional development, certifications, or technical training preferred
