Job description
We are seeking skilled and experienced Senior MEP Quantity Surveyors to join project teams delivering large-scale developments in London. This is an opportunity to work on high-profile projects, managing complex commercial responsibilities while supporting long-term client relationships.
Reports To: Commercial Director
Purpose of Role
Oversee multiple projects, driving commercial performance while maintaining strong client and stakeholder relationships.
Key Responsibilities
Manage project deliverables and ensure commercial, financial, and administrative systems are applied effectively.
Lead and guide commercial teams to ensure successful planning, execution, and closeout of projects.
Review tender documentation, identify risks and opportunities, and propose strategies to protect value.
Evaluate and approve key contractors and suppliers.
Ensure contractual correspondence, claims, and extension-of-time submissions are prepared in line with contractual obligations.
Monitor project progress to ensure delivery within programme and budget parameters.
Support definition of project scope, deliverables, and goals in coordination with stakeholders.
Report on costs versus estimates, analyse variances, and recommend corrective measures.
Provide detailed progress reports highlighting challenges, risks, and solutions.
Safeguard client objectives through proactive cost management, contractual advice, and collaborative engagement.
Ensure subcontract agreements reflect scope, compliance requirements, and contractual responsibilities.
Communicate contractual obligations clearly across all project team members, including site personnel.
Candidate Profile
Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Economics, or related qualification (RICS / SCSI membership or equivalent desirable).
6+ years’ professional experience in quantity surveying roles, with strong MEP and data centre project exposure.
Proven ability to develop and sustain strong client relationships, supporting repeat business opportunities.
Sound knowledge of major forms of contract used in the construction industry (e.g., JCT, FIDIC, RIAI).
Strong commercial acumen with awareness of industry trends and competitive landscape.
Skilled in negotiation, conflict resolution, and critical evaluation of technical and contractual documentation.
Excellent attention to detail, with the ability to deliver accurate, clear, and timely reports.
Confidence in building relationships with clients, consultants, and wider project stakeholders.
