​Lead Project Development Manager (BESS)

Location: Munich, Germany (Hybrid)

Salary: €90 000 - €100 000 DOE + %Bonus

About the Role

We are looking for a Lead Project Development Manager to drive large-scale battery energy storage projects from early-stage development through to financial close. You’ll take ownership of the pipeline in Germany (and potentially wider Europe) and act as a key interface across internal teams, external partners, authorities, and landowners.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the full development lifecycle of BESS projects.

• Manage permitting, grid connection, land agreements, and regulatory approvals.

• Coordinate consultants and internal teams across engineering, finance, and delivery.

• Build relationships with authorities, landowners, and stakeholders.

• Identify project risks and oversee key contracts and documents through financial close.

• Mentor junior developers and support team growth.

Your Profile

• 8+ years’ experience in project development (energy, renewables, or infrastructure).

• Strong knowledge of permitting, grid, and land agreements.

• Proven experience taking projects to financial close.

• Confident communicator and negotiator.

• Fluent in German and English.

• Proactive mindset with strong organisational skills.
