Job description
Job Title: Lead Macro Energy Trader (Cross-Commodity)
Focus: High-value, discretionary proprietary trading across the European energy stack.
The Role
As a Lead Macro Energy Trader, you will operate with significant autonomy, running a major proprietary book at the intersection of European Power, Natural Gas (TTF/NBP), and Carbon (EUA). You are responsible for navigating the structural shifts in the European energy balance, moving beyond simple curve trading to capture alpha from complex cross-commodity correlations.
Key Responsibilities
Book Ownership: Independently manage and grow a high-limit proprietary book with a focus on mid-to-long-term products (Month-ahead to Y+2).
Strategic Execution: Design and execute directional, relative value, and event-driven strategies (e.g., Spark/Dark spreads).
Risk Architecture: Own your daily risk metrics (VaR, Greeks, stress testing) and operate within defined drawdown limits.
Market Intel: Leverage a global network to gather "boots-on-the-ground" intelligence on physical flows and storage.
Candidate Profile
Experience: 10+ years in international commodity trading; minimum 8 years running a profitable Power/Gas book.
Track Record: Proven P&L generation of $10M–$30M+ per annum in previous roles.
Technical: Strong understanding of payoff engineering and option Greeks.
Languages: English (Required); German or French (Advantageous).
