Job description

The Role

Located in the operational core of the European energy transition, you will translate fundamental market shifts grid congestion, renewable intermittency, and policy changes into actionable proprietary positions. This role bridges the gap between traditional utility-style fundamental analysis and aggressive merchant trading.

Key Responsibilities

  • CWE Focus: Specialize in the Central Western Europe (CWE) market coupling, with a deep dive into the German Power Future.

  • Fundamental Analysis: Work with our quant desk to build and refine forecasting models for wind/solar delta and nuclear availability.

  • Pod Leadership: Act as a "Player-Coach," managing your own book while mentoring junior traders and analysts to build a world-class desk.

  • Compliance: Ensure all trading activities adhere to REMIT and local BaFin regulations.

Candidate Profile

  • Experience: 7+ years of proprietary trading in Continental European markets (EEX/EPEX SPOT).

  • Expertise: Deep knowledge of the German "Energiewende" and the impact of the TSO (Amprion, TenneT, etc.) interventions.

  • Education: Master’s degree in Finance, Physics, or Economics.

  • Languages: Professional fluency in German is highly preferred for navigating regional regulatory and grid data.
