Role Overview:

We are seeking an experienced and strategic Head of Short Term Trading to lead and expand our short-term trading operations. This role requires a deep understanding of commodity markets, a track record of profitable trading, and strong leadership skills to manage a high-performing trading team. The successful candidate will drive trading strategies, risk management, and operational excellence across multiple commodity markets.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead, mentor, and manage a team of short-term traders across multiple commodities.

  • Develop and execute short-term trading strategies to maximize profitability and market share.

  • Monitor and analyze market trends, supply-demand dynamics, and pricing fluctuations.

  • Collaborate with risk management to ensure appropriate hedging, limits, and compliance.

  • Establish and maintain relationships with brokers, counterparties, and key market participants.

  • Oversee trade execution, performance tracking, and reporting to senior management.

  • Identify new trading opportunities and expand the firm’s short-term trading footprint.

  • Implement and optimize trading processes, systems, and tools to enhance efficiency and decision-making.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Proven track record in short-term commodity trading (energy, metals, or agricultural markets).

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret market data and trends.

  • Excellent leadership and team management experience.

  • In-depth knowledge of risk management, regulatory frameworks, and compliance in commodity markets.

  • Strong communication and negotiation skills with the ability to influence stakeholders.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
