We're partnering with a leading European energy trading and origination business to find an exceptional Head of Power Trading. This senior leadership role will oversee power trading operations, set strategy, and drive performance in one of the most competitive and fast-evolving markets in Europe.

The Opportunity

As Head of Power Trading, you’ll take full responsibility for PnL, strategy, and team leadership across short, medium, and long-term markets. You’ll be leading a talented trading desk and working closely with analytics, risk, and asset optimisation teams to maximise portfolio value. Key Responsibilities

• Set and execute the power trading strategy across multiple European markets.

• Lead trading in day-ahead, intraday, and forward markets, ensuring adherence to risk and compliance frameworks.

• Use market insights, quantitative analysis, and proprietary modelling to identify and capture new opportunities.

• Manage, mentor, and grow a team of high-performing traders, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and results.

• Represent the trading desk externally with exchanges, market participants, and regulatory bodies.

• Work closely with cross-functional teams to optimise assets and enhance trading capabilities.

About You

• Significant track record in European power trading, ideally with exposure to multiple markets and products.

• Proven leadership experience managing successful trading teams.

• Strong commercial and strategic mindset with a history of delivering consistent PnL.

• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

• Comfortable working in a data-driven environment with advanced analytics capabilities.

• Able to inspire and develop trading talent while maintaining a high-performance culture.
