​Team Lead – Grid Connections (Solar/BESS/Wind)

Berlin Area | Hybrid

Up to 110k Euros + %bonus + company car

A fast-growing European renewable energy company is looking for an experienced Team Lead to head its Grid Connections team. This is a hands-on leadership role with responsibility for the planning, design, and realisation of onshore wind, solar PV, and BESS projects, including substations, transformer stations, and cable networks.

With a growing international presence, the company develops, owns, and operates its assets across Germany, France, and Poland, supported by a leading global infrastructure investor.

Your Mission

• Lead and mentor a small, skilled team of electrical engineers and working students.

• Plan and design grid connections for renewable energy projects, ensuring compliance with local regulations and technical standards.

• Coordinate applications and approvals with DSOs/TSOs and oversee the full grid connection process.

• Develop cost-effective, technically sound grid connection solutions.

• Interface with internal development, construction, and execution teams to ensure smooth project delivery.

• Participate in commissioning and certification of projects, including on-site visits when required.

• Regular reporting to senior management and close collaboration with other departments.

Your Profile

• Degree in Electrical Engineering, Energy Technology, or equivalent experience (technician/master level acceptable).

• Proven experience leading a technical team, ideally in grid connections or renewable energy projects.

• Strong knowledge of grid connection planning, including substations, PV, BESS, and onshore wind.

• Experience with network calculations and tools (DIgSILENT, PowerFactory, PSS SINCAL, E-Plan, etc.).

• Familiarity with relevant standards and guidelines (e.g., VDE-AR-N 4110/4120).

• Excellent communication, independent decision-making, and problem-solving skills.

• Passionate about renewable energy, sustainability, and driving the energy transition.

• Fluency in German
