Job description
Job Title: Database Modeler – Electrical Transmission & Distribution
Location: Hybrid, UK (2days/Week Onsite)
Duration: 6months+
Role Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Database Modeler with a strong background in Electrical Transmission and Distribution (T&D) network modeling. The ideal candidate will have expertise in SQL, data modeling, and EMS/ADMS systems, along with hands-on experience in designing and implementing electrical network data models for EMS/DMS applications.
Key Responsibilities:
Design and develop conceptual, logical, and physical data models supporting Electrical Transmission and Distribution networks.
Create and maintain Electrical network models for EMS (Energy Management Systems) and DMS (Distribution Management Systems).
Work with Display Builder tools for EMS and AEMS applications.
Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to understand Single Line Diagrams (SLD) and translate them into data models.
Optimize data models and database structures for performance, scalability, and reliability.
Maintain and enhance relational databases such as Oracle (19C and above).
Support data validation, model integration, and version management processes.
Required Skills & Experience:
Minimum 5 years of experience in Electrical network data modeling.
Strong understanding of Electrical Transmission and Distribution networks.
Hands-on experience with EMS/ADMS modeling tools (preferably eTerra Habitat).
Proficiency in SQL and working knowledge of Oracle databases (19C+).
Experience working with Display Builder for EMS/AEMS applications.
Good understanding of Electrical Single Line Diagrams (SLD).
Minimum 2 years of experience in creating Electrical Data Models for EMS/DMS applications.
Good to Have:
Exposure to Power Systems applications or SCADA systems.
Knowledge of data integration and database performance tuning.
Familiarity with data governance and data quality frameworks.
Education:
Bachelor's or master's degree in electrical engineering, Power Systems, or related discipline.
