Company Overview
Our client is a leading Data Centre operator delivering mission-critical facilities across Europe. They are seeking an experienced Commissioning Manager to join a major hyperscale project in Finland, providing client-side leadership and oversight to ensure successful project delivery.
Role Purpose
The Commissioning Manager will be responsible for the end-to-end commissioning process of the data centre, including strategy development, site inspections, quality assurance, and coordination with vendors and project teams. This role ensures the facility is delivered to the highest operational, safety, and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
Design and implement a comprehensive commissioning plan, engaging all project partners to ensure alignment and collaboration.
Manage the commissioning schedule, scope, and budget, ensuring timely delivery of milestones.
Perform regular site reviews and inspections to verify quality, compliance, and proper functioning of systems.
Coordinate with vendors and contractors, monitoring performance and addressing issues proactively.
Facilitate effective communication between project teams, vendors, and senior management regarding progress, risks, and resolutions.
Lead client-appointed commissioning teams and provide guidance throughout the project lifecycle.
Continuously evaluate methods and processes, recommending improvements to optimize efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
Identify potential conflicts or dependencies between stakeholders and work to resolve them to maintain project continuity.
Candidate Requirements
Solid knowledge of UPS systems, switchgear, generators, and other critical mechanical and electrical infrastructure.
Demonstrated experience producing and executing commissioning scripts and operational procedures.
Background in managing Data Centre projects or similar high-availability facilities.
Degree or equivalent professional experience in Project Management, Construction, Engineering, or a related discipline.
Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, able to influence and motivate teams across multiple stakeholders.
Independent thinker who can take ownership of tasks while collaborating effectively with a larger project team.
Results-oriented, proactive, and able to anticipate issues before they impact delivery.
