Job description

Our client is a global FinTech leader operating at the intersection of advanced financial analytics, digital payments, and real‑time risk intelligence. With a rapidly expanding U.S. presence and a strong commitment to innovation, the company is now investing heavily in next‑generation AI capabilities to scale products, unlock new revenue lines, and transform the financial experience for millions of customers worldwide.

We are seeking a visionary AI Enginner to build and lead the organisation’s AI strategy, spearhead cutting‑edge initiatives, and shape the future of AI‑driven financial solutions.

Role Overview

As an AI Engineer, you will work across the full lifecycle of AI development, from research and experimentation to model building, deployment, and optimisation. You’ll collaborate with product managers, data engineers, ML engineers, and risk teams to deliver high‑impact AI features that power core financial products.

This role is ideal for an experienced engineer who thrives in fast‑moving, high‑growth environments and wants to make a meaningful impact within a global FinTech organisation.

Key Responsibilities

AI & ML Development

  • Design, build, and deploy machine‑learning models supporting fraud detection, credit scoring, payments optimisation, and personalised financial insights.

  • Develop and fine‑tune models using deep learning, NLP/LLMs, and generative AI techniques.

  • Contribute to model evaluation, performance tuning, and real‑time inference optimisation.

Technical Execution

  • Collaborate with data engineering teams to build robust, scalable pipelines for training and production workflows.

  • Work hands‑on with modern ML infrastructure: cloud‑native environments, distributed training, vector databases, and MLOps tooling.

  • Ensure all AI systems adhere to industry standards for security, ethics, fairness, and regulatory compliance.

Cross‑Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with Product, Engineering, and Compliance teams to integrate AI features into customer‑facing products and internal platforms.

  • Communicate technical findings, model performance, and design decisions to stakeholders across the business.

  • Contribute to documentation, best practices, and internal knowledge‑sharing for AI technologies.

Qualifications

Required:

  • 3–6+ years of hands‑on experience as an AI Engineer, ML Engineer, or Data Scientist.

  • Strong proficiency in deep learning, modern NLP/LLM frameworks, and applied machine learning.

  • Experience deploying machine‑learning models into production at scale.

  • Solid understanding of financial data, payments, risk modelling, or related domains.

  • Proficiency in Python, ML frameworks (PyTorch/TensorFlow), and cloud platforms (AWS/GCP/Azure).

Preferred:

  • Experience in FinTech, banking, or other regulated industries.

  • Familiarity with retrieval‑augmented generation, fine‑tuning domain‑specific LLMs, or building AI agents.

  • Experience with MLOps tooling (Kubeflow, Airflow, MLflow, SageMaker, Vertex AI, etc.).

  • Background in responsible AI, model governance, or risk‑aware ML development.
