One month in - Alina speaks on Vallum and career growth
Last week, we sat down with our Onshore & Offshore Wind Principal Consultant, Alina, to hear about her experience at Vallum so far. Having been with us for just over a month, she has already highlighted her expertise and demonstrated how her years of experience have led her to where she is today.
With over five years of experience in the Offshore Wind space, Alina understands the industry's ins and outs and shares how her experience has been so far.
"I joined two weeks before Christmas, which tends to be a slower period in terms of business. However, here it was completely different, everyone was buzzing. There was a lot of business happening."
She highlights how important it is to have a supportive team:
"From day one, I’ve seen how motivated everyone is by each other to work hard. Because when you’re sitting next to a successful consultant or marketing team, you’re in an environment that allows you to work hard and deliver, which is great."
She add, “We understand that sometimes it’s easier to work together to make our desk, for example, more successful.”
Alina also shared what initially drew her to joining Vallum:
"I used to work in the maritime industry, and I thought I should do something more salesy. I’ve been working in recruitment now for five years and was naturally seeing Vallum on LinkedIn through its exciting socials and from a competition point of view. You guys keep doing amazing business, and your reputation within the industry is very good, so I thought it would be good to be a part of it."
The first month has flown by, and she expresses how excited she is about Vallum’s fast-paced environment:
"The growth is exciting as we can really see it happening. We just started the Graduate Academy, and the new starters are learning very quickly as they are being trained by our talented Head of Learning & Development, Matt."
She expands on this:
"Additionally, the growth in terms of expanding our presence is something to look forward to. For instance, the offices that we’re planning to open and the growth in different countries, even continents, helps us promote the fact that we are not just focused on the UK but can use our skills across the whole globe."
Of course, recruitment isn’t without its challenges, but success comes from overcoming them.
She shares her own plans:
"For now, I’m really excited to build my career and to be involved in the industry, because in all honesty, I’m obsessed with wind. I love offshore wind, I love what I do, and I love the industry so much."
Yet, she has a clear vision of what will come after:
"However, overall, in terms of my future, I see myself driving a Range Rover, having nice Lululemon or Alo leggings on, and just having this Pilates boujee lifestyle."
We must agree that future sounds pretty good!
With one month down and many more to come, Alina has proven that passion and perseverance are key to success.
