One Month In - Catch up with our Vallum Academy

Time flies when you're learning, and our Vallum Academy is already hitting the one-month mark! We decided to check back in with our associate consultants to see how they are progressing.

Most of our academy members started with little to no recruitment experience, yet they've been soaking up knowledge and building confidence at an incredible pace.

Matt, our Learning and Development Manager, shared his thoughts on the group's progress:

"As we head into month two, where things really heat up, I am so proud of this group and how they have attacked the role with such enthusiasm and determination. The Academy is excited about being put into their respective teams and giving their specialisms this week; it feels like the sorting hat in Harry Potter!"

The first month has flown by, and our associate consultants have adapted to the fast-paced environment and are thriving in it.

Ayesha shared her thoughts on the experience so far:

"I've enjoyed it very much. The atmosphere in the office is amazing, and Matthew is a great mentor; he's very supportive, patient and understanding. It's also nice to receive praises on small achievements."

Of course, recruitment isn't without its challenges, but growth comes from overcoming them. We asked some of our academy members about their biggest hurdles so far.

Sion reflected on the importance of staying organised:

"Staying organised and on top of your workload was the most challenging. Even in the first few weeks, you're learning it's been important to get past anything that hinders your organisation."

Meanwhile, Ayesha highlighted the technical learning curve:

"My biggest challenge was familiarising myself with the different systems used for candidate searches, particularly SourceBreaker and what the most effective and efficient searches would be."

The Academy runs for around three months, and while that might seem far off, we know time will fly. We asked our associate consultants what their goals are by the end of the programme.

Sion has a clear vision:

"To hopefully have settled into my market with enough knowledge and confidence to hit the ground running. The Academy has done a lot to help move me towards that end."

That ambition and drive is exactly what we love to see at Vallum!

With one month down and two to go, our January cohort is already making waves, and we can't wait to see what they achieve next. We'll keep you updated throughout their journey and catch them again at the end of the Academy to reflect on their entire experience.

One thing's for sure—we're excited to see all the deals this group will bring to Vallum. Their progress so far is setting the stage for a bright future!
