Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior Electrical Design Engineer to lead and deliver high-quality electrical designs for power distribution networks up to 132kV. Working within an Independent Connection Provider (ICP) environment, you will be responsible for the full design lifecycle of contestable works, ensuring compliance with DNO/IDNO standards, statutory regulations, and project requirements.

This is a senior technical role requiring strong leadership, in-depth knowledge of UK power networks, and the ability to interface effectively with clients, DNOs/IDNOs, and internal delivery teams.

Key Responsibilities

Technical & Design Responsibilities

• Lead the electrical design of LV, HV (11kV–33kV), and EHV (66kV–132kV) distribution networks.

• Produce and approve detailed electrical designs including:

• Single Line Diagrams (SLDs)

• Protection and control philosophies

• Earthing and bonding designs

• Substation layouts and equipment specifications

• Cable routing, cable sizing, and installation details

• Undertake power system studies including load flow, fault level, voltage drop, and protection
