​Senior Manager, Design & Engineering – Solar & Energy Storage

Role Overview

The Senior Manager of Design & Engineering will lead the technical design, engineering, and implementation of solar, storage, and related energy projects. This is a leadership role responsible for overseeing design standards, coordinating cross-functional teams, and ensuring projects meet safety, code, and performance requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage PV, energy storage, and EV charging system designs, including canopy, ground-mount, and rooftop installations.

• Conduct technical reviews with Sales, Development, and Construction teams; lead complex design and project costing discussions.

• Serve as technical lead on project calls with internal teams and external stakeholders.

• Develop and refine engineering standards, processes, and metrics for safety, cost-effectiveness, and new technology evaluation.

• Allocate resources and ensure technical training across teams.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in C&I solar PV design and engineering, 2+ years in energy storage, and 2+ years in team leadership. Experience with utilities in the Northeast (New England, NY/NJ) preferred.

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Energy Engineering; advanced degree preferred.

• Professional Engineering (PE) license or willingness to obtain.

• NABCEP PV Installation Certification required.

• Proficiency with AutoCAD, Helioscope, PVSyst, Salesforce, Microsoft Office, and Google Suite.

• Strong knowledge of electrical single-line diagrams, point-to-point diagrams, and BOM review for solar and storage systems.
