Job description
Our client is a well-established multi-disciplinary MEP firm, supporting mid- to large-scale commercial, institutional, and industrial projects. They deliver integrated solutions in power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, telecommunications, and backup power systems across sectors such as K–12, higher education, corporate, healthcare and government They emphasize collaborative, high-quality, code-compliant design while encouraging professional growth and mentoring.
Key Responsibilities
Design electrical systems including power distribution, lighting & controls, fire alarm, telecom, and backup generation for commercial/institutional buildings
Develop calculations, one-line diagrams, panel schedules, load analysis and short-circuit/coordination studies per NEC, IBC, IEEE standards
Prepare construction documents: layouts, equipment specifications, single-line diagrams, technical reports, and bid packages
Collaborate with MEP disciplines (mechanical, plumbing, structural, civil) and architects to deliver integrated design solutions
Provide construction support: review submittals, respond to RFIs, perform site observations and inspections, coordinate with contractors and clients
Engage directly with clients in project delivery and documentation coordination
Qualifications
Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering
Current EIT certification required; PE license preferred or active
Approximately 3–6 years of electrical design experience (EIT level) or 5+ years (for PE level) in MEP consulting roles
Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit MEP, and Microsoft Office; familiarity with design/calculation tools
Excellent written and verbal communication skills; client-focused and detail-oriented
