​We are working with a fast-growing distributed energy company that is transforming the UK’s energy landscape through decentralised, low-carbon power solutions. As they continue to expand their project pipeline, they are seeking a proactive Connections Managerto oversee and manage utility connections for a wide range of low-voltage energy projects.

This is a great opportunity for someone with 3–5 years of relevant experience who wants to work in a mission-driven environment focused on the energy transition.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage end-to-end grid connection processes for low-voltage energy systems, including CHP, heat networks, solar PV, and battery storage projects.

  • Liaise with DNOs, IDNOs, ICPs, and other stakeholders to secure timely and cost-effective connections.

  • Assess grid connection feasibility, apply for connection offers, and interpret technical and commercial terms.

  • Support project development teams with grid-related input during early-stage assessments and planning.

  • Track and manage connection milestones, ensuring alignment with project delivery timelines.

  • Provide technical insight on connection capacity, reinforcement risks, and alternative solutions.

  • Maintain detailed records and documentation related to all applications and agreements.

Key Requirements:

  • 3–5 years of experience in a grid or utility connections role within the energy or infrastructure sector.

  • Solid understanding of low-voltage (LV) distribution systems and connection requirements.

  • Familiarity with DNO processes and standards, including G98/G99 where relevant.

  • Strong communication skills, able to work cross-functionally and manage external stakeholders.

  • A proactive mindset with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Desirable:

  • Experience working on decentralised or embedded generation projects.

  • Exposure to commercial aspects of connection agreements and project economics.

  • Technical background in electrical engineering or energy systems (preferred but not essential).
