Job description

Full time – 40 hours per week

Language: Dutch (preferred) – French

​The service actively participates in the definition, development, and implementation of the telecom component of electrical infrastructure projects (380, 220, 150, 70, and 36 kV) that involve the expansion, modification, or expansion of high-voltage substations.

  • In charge of the telecommunications component of infrastructure projects, including its concept, analysis, and design. He also assists in its implementation through its commissioning and administrative closure

  • Feasibility studies and budget estimation

  • Converting the project's needs into specific telecom requirements.

  • Choosing the best course of action and recording it in a telecom project note after careful discussion with the administrators of the telecom infrastructure (both inside and between the stations).

  • Helping the design team with their thorough investigation (creating the several plans required for the telecom installation's construction and management) and supporting the project manager of the overall project throughout the building phase

  • Since the project note serves as the foundation for creating the telecom tender dossiers, a memorandum has been prepared that includes information on the practical implementation as well as a detailed description of the various sub-phases

  • Work closely with the department in charge of developing and maintaining Elia's telecommunications backbone (the actual telecommunications network) by participating in pilot projects that enable the validation of the new concepts as well as the telecommunications equipment used on the Belgian network and the tools connected to it

  • Contribute to the definition of the new concepts and the framework agreements for the telecommunications equipment, in conjunction with the expertise department


Requirements:

  • Civil or industrial engineer in electrical or electromechanical engineering

  • Strong sense of responsibility, outspoken organizational talent.

  • You can keep an overview of different projects running at the same time.

  • Smooth assertive communicator who is customer-oriented, values team spirit and is resourceful.

  • Experience with (telecom) projects is an asset.
