We are currently retained by a globally recognised trading firm to identify a Senior Proprietary Trader to join their high-performing desk in Switzerland. Key Responsibilities:

• Independently run a proprietary trading book with a clear risk mandate across power, gas, emissions, or related commodities.

• Design and execute directional, spread, or arbitrage strategies based on fundamentals, market structure, and short-term dynamics.

• Collaborate with analytics, tech, and data teams to continuously refine trading tools and models.

• Maintain a robust understanding of market fundamentals, policy changes, and infrastructure developments across European energy markets.

• Report regularly to senior management on risk exposure, performance, and strategic outlook.

• Contribute to the broader trading team’s success through knowledge sharing and commercial insights.

Candidate Profile:

• Minimum 5–7 years of proprietary trading experience with a strong, verifiable PnL track record.

• Expertise in one or more of the following markets: European power, natural gas, emissions, coal, or cross-commodity strategies.

• Strong analytical and quantitative background; experience building or refining models/tools is a strong advantage (e.g., Python, R, VBA).

• Deep understanding of market mechanisms, regulatory landscape, and physical constraints.

• Highly disciplined in risk management, position sizing, and trade execution.

• Self-motivated, intellectually curious, and driven by performance.
