Job Title: Mechanical Commissioning Engineer – CCPP

Location: Italy (Various project sites)

Employment Type: Contract

Passport Requirement: EU Passport holders only

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Commissioning Engineer to join our dynamic team working on high-profile Combined Cycle Power Plant (CCPP) projects across Italy. The successful candidate will be responsible for the planning, coordination, and execution of mechanical commissioning activities to ensure successful plant start-up and handover to operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and execute the mechanical commissioning activities for gas turbines, steam turbines, HRSGs, balance of plant (BoP), and auxiliary systems.

  • Review and validate pre-commissioning and commissioning procedures, method statements, and system boundaries.

  • Supervise mechanical system flushing, leak tests, lube oil flushing, valve stroking, and rotation checks.

  • Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams (electrical, I&C, operations) to ensure seamless commissioning activities.

  • Perform troubleshooting and rectification of mechanical issues during commissioning and start-up.

  • Ensure commissioning documentation (checklists, punch lists, test reports) is completed and submitted timely.

  • Interface with OEM representatives, client personnel, and subcontractors.

  • Ensure compliance with HSE standards and site regulations during all commissioning phases.

Requirements:

  • EU Passport (mandatory for site access and travel requirements).

  • Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.

  • Minimum 5 years of commissioning experience on CCPP or large thermal power plant projects.

  • Proven experience with gas and steam turbine systems, heat recovery steam generators, and mechanical BoP systems.

  • Familiar with international commissioning procedures and standards (e.g., ASME, API).

  • Strong organisational, communication, and problem-solving skills.

  • Fluent in English; knowledge of Italian is a strong advantage.

  • Willingness to travel and work on remote project sites within Italy.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with OEM equipment from GE, Siemens, Mitsubishi, or similar.

  • Familiarity with commissioning software tools and digital documentation systems.

  • Previous experience working in Italy or similar EU countries.
