Job Title: Marine Engineer - Marine & Waterfront Projects
Role Overview:
This position focuses on structural and geotechnical engineering for marine and waterfront infrastructure projects. Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Designing piers, wharves, and bulkheads, including essential components such as piles, pile caps, decks, fenders, and mooring bollards/cleats using materials like concrete, steel, timber, and composites.
Evaluating the structural capacity of deteriorating components to assess their remaining strength and lifespan.
Conducting field inspections of existing structures to assess condition and performance.
Performing berthing and mooring analysis to ensure safety and functionality.
Developing plans, designs, specifications, calculations, and cost estimates.
Collaborating effectively with internal teams and external partners.
Preparing detailed engineering reports and other technical documents.
Conducting site visits during construction to verify compliance with contract specifications.
Responsibilities:
Lead the technical design and engineering efforts to ensure projects or project components are completed on time, within scope, and within budget.
Coordinate and manage the detailed aspects of engineering tasks, including the design of complete projects, systems, components, or processes.
Assist in preparing project scopes, budgets, and schedules.
Analyze and interpret project data, solve technical challenges, and produce design documents.
Assign tasks and oversee the work of engineers, technicians, and administrative support staff.
Contribute to proposals for professional services or funding for engineering projects.
Foster collaboration with both internal teams and external partners on multidisciplinary design and engineering projects.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering; Master’s degree preferred.
6–10 years of relevant professional experience.
Professional Engineer (PE) license is required.
Proven experience in planning, organizing, estimating, scheduling, and monitoring projects, including both overhead and underground systems.
Ability to build and maintain positive working relationships for effective collaboration and task coordination.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Pre-employment drug screening is mandatory, and background and motor vehicle checks may be required depending on the position.
