Primary Responsibility:
Responsible for ensuring the technical accuracy and quality of all products produced by the Design Studio.
Essential Functions:
- Ensure accuracy of finished product designs, reviewing for completeness, resolving conflicts, and aligning with project objectives throughout the lifecycle.
- Develop solutions to complex engineering problems.
- Support leadership in maintaining high-quality standards, fostering innovative design strategies, and enhancing the technical expertise of the studio staff.
- Work with leadership and project managers to optimize the utilization of studio resources.
- Ensure projects remain within scope, schedule, and budget.
- Assist in the recruitment, evaluation, and development of studio staff, including performance management and adherence to company policies.
- Mentor and support the professional growth of staff across all levels.
- Analyze and reconcile technical data, addressing discrepancies effectively.
- Provide data and specifications for proposals and presentations, ensuring accuracy.
- Ensure compliance with billing codes and standards.
- Participate in all project phases, including design, bidding, and construction administration.
- Prepare technical and cost-related aspects for submissions.
- Collaborate with internal teams, external consultants, and vendors.
- Attend meetings to discuss project progress and deliverables.
- Ensure all production adheres to established quality standards.
Secondary Functions:
- Communicate technical concepts to non-technical team members.
- Perform day-to-day quality assurance/quality control (QA/QC) functions as needed.
- Undertake other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Skills Required:
- In-depth understanding of design-to-completion engineering processes.
- Comprehensive knowledge of engineering principles and design software.
- Familiarity with industry standards and QA/QC practices.
- Exceptional communication and leadership skills.
- Ability to maintain discretion and foster productive relationships with colleagues, clients, and vendors.
Education/Experience:
- Registered Engineer with a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience.
