Pricing Actuarial Analyst – Chicago – Hybrid - $110,000 + 10% bonus

 

I am currently working with a growing Niche Specialty Insurer who are looking for an Actuarial Analyst to join their Actuarial Pricing team. This position is primarily responsible for supporting multiple lines of business by monitoring portfolios, evaluating rating tools, exploring new opportunities, and contributing to the annual planning process.

 

This position would be based in Chicago 2/3 days per week with remote options offered and is paying up to $110,000 + 10% bonus!

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide support for various divisions in the duties outlined below.
  • Assist in the development and enhancement of rating tools as needed.
  • Support premium budgeting and loss ratio planning efforts.
  • Contribute to pricing analysis for new program opportunities and existing programs, including technical pricing, expected loss ratios, capital utilization, and reinsurance analytics.
  • Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly, and ad-hoc reports, synthesizing data to highlight key insights.
  • Support the rate filing process as required.
  • Apply fundamental actuarial principles to analyse company and industry data for actuarial studies.
  • Prepare and present summaries of actuarial analyses to business partners and senior leadership.
  • Participate in the development and documentation of department processes.
  • Study for and progress in the CAS examinations through both on-the-job experience and independent study.

 

Required Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Actuarial Science, Economics, Finance, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in an Actuarial role ideally within pricing.
  • Experience across Property, Casualty or Specialty lines of business.
  • Demonstrated progress in understanding and applying basic Actuarial principles.
  • Commitment to the actuarial exam process, with at least 1 exam passed.
