Quantity Surveyor
Greater Glasgow - Hybrid
Salary: DOE + %bonus + package
I am currently partnered with a leading business in grid scale infrastructure, BESS and Solar projects across the UK. They are currently looking for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their team based in Glasgow.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and manage comprehensive cost estimates, budgets, and financial plans for large-scale renewable energy projects, ensuring all expenses are closely monitored and controlled.
Oversee the tendering process, manage contractual agreements, and ensure compliance with all terms and conditions, addressing any variations or disputes as they arise.
Deliver accurate and timely financial reports, tracking project costs against budgets and identifying any discrepancies or variances.
Assist in the procurement of materials, services, and subcontractors, ensuring cost-effectiveness while maintaining high quality and industry standards.
Work closely with internal teams (engineering, construction, commissioning) and external stakeholders to ensure seamless project execution, providing regular updates on project financials and progress.
Oversee the financial management throughout the project lifecycle, from mobilisation to energisation and handover, supporting cost forecasting and the preparation of final accounts.
Experience
Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor
in the construction or energy sectors, with expertise in HV works, civil, or electrical projects, ideally within the renewable energy projects
Strong understanding of cost control, procurement, and contract management
processes.
Experience with large-scale infrastructure or grid connection projects, particularly focusing on Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) and Solar Systems.
In-depth knowledge of UK electricity network connections, including distribution and transmission voltage levels.
Experience managing Independent Connection Provider (ICP) projects, especially for 132kV connections, is highly desirable.
Solid understanding of construction contracts, including NEC, JCT, and other relevant contract types.
A
degree or equivalent qualification
in Quantity Surveying or a related field is preferred.
