Job description

​As the MEP Lead on amission-critical data centre project in Germany, you’ll be responsible for ensuring the successful delivery of all mechanical, electrical, and public health systems in a high-performance, high-security environment. This is a leadership role requiring deep technical expertise, coordination across disciplines, and a strong focus on quality, speed, and reliability.

Responsibilities

  • Lead End-to-End Delivery of MEP systems from pre-construction through commissioning and client handover.

  • Drive Performance across programme, budget, quality, and risk, with a focus on uptime and system resilience.

  • Be the MEP Focal Point for all project stakeholders – client, consultants, supply chain, and internal teams.

  • Shape Procurement by defining technical scope and aligning packages to the data centre’s unique requirements.

  • Ensure Design Integrity, compliance, and alignment with energy efficiency and sustainability goals.

  • Lead Commissioning Strategy, ensuring Tier-level compliance, full system integration, and operational testing.

  • Manage Risk Proactively, identifying critical paths and resolving technical or programme issues swiftly.

  • Track Progress Digitally, using analytics and reporting tools to optimise workflows and avoid delays.

  • Coordinate Close-Out with complete O&M documentation, training plans, and as-built records.

  • Develop Your Team, providing leadership, mentoring, and a structured growth path for engineers and leads.

Requirments

  • Proven experience delivering large-scale MEP packages on hyperscale or enterprise data centre projects.

  • In-depth knowledge of mission-critical systems, redundancy requirements, and commissioning best practices.

  • Expertise in construction safety, technical integration, and managing complex interfaces.

  • Strong commercial acumen, with experience in procurement, contract management, and cost control.

  • Ability to lead under pressure and manage multidisciplinary teams across fast-paced delivery environments.

  • Proficiency with digital project tools (e.g., BIM, scheduling, dashboards).

  • Recognised technical qualifications (HNC/HND, BEng/MEng) and relevant certifications (e.g., SMSTS, CSCS).

  • Ideally chartered or working towards membership with relevant engineering bodies (CIBSE, IET, IMechE).
