Job description
Senior Project Manager – HVDC Auxiliary Control System Upgrade
Responsible for the end-to-end delivery of complex upgrade and replacement projects for Auxiliary Control Systems within HVDC offshore grid connections and interconnectors. The role focuses on implementing IT and OT upgrades to mitigate OEM end-of-support and cybersecurity risks, ensuring delivery against safety, quality, budget, schedule, and stakeholder objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Lead multidisciplinary teams across the full project lifecycle
Plan and deliver Auxiliary Control System upgrades and replacements
Manage interfaces with internal and external stakeholders, including execution teams, supply chain, and technical specialists
Ensure compliance with permits, regulations, technical standards, governance frameworks, and contracts
Maintain core project documentation (schedules, progress, risks)
Proactively manage risks and opportunities
Support continuous improvement of project governance and tools
Mentor and coach junior project managers
Profile
Degree in Engineering, Industrial Engineering & Management, or similar
Experience delivering complex infrastructure projects, ideally in high-voltage and/or offshore environments
Knowledge of EU tendering and procurement processes
Project management certification (e.g., PMP, IPMA or equivalent)
Technical Expertise (one or more)
High-voltage auxiliary systems
Process Control Systems (e.g., Yokogawa, ABB 800xA, Siemens PCS7)
Mechanical/process systems (e.g., transformers, switchgear, HVAC, fire protection, CCTV, LV, UPS)
IT/OT network architecture aligned with Purdue Model / ISA-99
Skills
Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
Comfortable operating in VUCA environments
Fluent in English; additional European languages are a plus
Willingness to travel within Europe
