​Vallum Associates is partnering with a leading engineering contractor to recruit experienced Substation Engineers and Protection & Control Engineers to support the delivery of high-voltage distribution projects across the UK.

Opportunities available on both a permanent and freelance basis.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver secondary design for HV substations (11kV–132kV)

• Produce and review P&C schematics, wiring diagrams, cable schedules, termination drawings, SLDs and GA drawings

• Support the design of protection, SCADA and substation control systems

• Review technical documentation and vendor submissions

• Provide engineering support through installation, testing and commissioning

• Ensure compliance with DNO standards and IEC regulations

Requirements

• Experience in Protection & Control, Secondary Design or Substation Engineering

• Strong HV substation secondary design experience

• Knowledge of protection relays, SCADA systems and control schemes

• Proficient in AutoCAD Electrical and/or EPLAN

• Experience delivering UK distribution projects

• Previous UKPN and/or SSEN project experience is highly desirable

• Background within an EPC, ICP or DNO environment preferred
