Role Summary
The Senior Azure Cloud Engineer will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing secure, scalable, and highly available Azure cloud environments supporting Digital, Engineering, Manufacturing, and IT transformation initiatives for a leading Aeroengine manufacturer in the UK. The role focuses on cloud platform engineering, automation, infrastructure modernisation, operational excellence, and cloud governance
Key Responsibilities
Design and implement scalable, secure, and highly available Azure cloud solutions, ensuring alignment with enterprise architecture, governance, and compliance standards
Build, automate, and manage Azure infrastructure and platform services using Infrastructure as Code (ARM Templates) and PowerShell scripting
Lead application migration and cloud modernization initiatives, including deployment of Azure services, virtual networks, storage, databases, and platform components
Collaborate with architects, application developers, DevOps engineers, and data teams to troubleshoot infrastructure issues and optimize cloud performance, reliability, and security
Implement and manage cloud security controls, disaster recovery, high availability, monitoring, backup, and operational best practices while maintaining technical documentation and project deliverables
Key Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related discipline, with 10+ years of experience in Azure Cloud technologies (IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS)
Proven expertise in Azure cloud architecture, application migration, infrastructure deployment, and automation using ARM Templates and PowerShell scripting
Strong hands-on experience with Azure services including Virtual Machines, Azure AD, VNETs, Storage Accounts, Azure SQL, PostgreSQL, Data Factory, Data Lake, Databricks, Monitoring, Log Analytics, and VM Scale Sets
Good understanding of containerization technologies including Docker, Kubernetes, and Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), along with networking, load balancing, WAF, security controls, and firewall management
Experience with High Availability (HA), Disaster Recovery (DR), Linux administration (RHEL/Ubuntu), troubleshooting Azure connectivity issues, and working within Agile delivery environments
