Job description

Tasks & outcomes

  • Sit at the heart of the team's data and analytics function, providing the technical backbone for reporting, modelling and insight delivery

  • Take ownership of data wrangling and routine analytical work — cleaning, managing and manipulating data using Excel and Power Query to answer operational questions and refresh existing models

  • Be responsible for building and maintaining Power BI dashboards relied upon by both the internal team and client for day-to-day decision making

  • Extract data directly from source systems, applies appropriate statistical techniques and produces clear visualisations tailored to the target audience

  • Own repeatable data tasks end-to-end, freeing senior consultants to focus on higher-value work

  • Documents processes and builds sustainability into outputs, ensuring refreshes are not dependent on a single individual

  • Operates within a programme supporting the acceleration of defence maritime build programmes — expected to get up to speed quickly with ship build strategies, terminology and scheduling environments

Skills Required

  • Familiarity and working capability with Primavera P6 and project scheduling

  • Strong Excel skills, including the ability to produce, continue developing and QA metrics in support of the wider team

  • Experience building and maintaining dashboards and visualisations in Power BI or similar tools

  • Ability to extract and manipulate data from source systems and apply appropriate analytical techniques

Desirable:

  • Change management capability, with experience embedding dashboards or analytical tools within client teams

  • Prior experience in capital build or defence maritime environments; ship build experience is strongly preferred
