Mechanical Supervisor – Grid Stability Infrastructure Project

Contract Duration:Minimum 12 months

Start Date:August

Working Hours

  • Monday to Friday, 7:00am – 5:00pm

  • Occasional Saturday work as required

Overview

An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced Mechanical Supervisor to join a major grid stability infrastructure project involving the construction and commissioning of a Synchronous Condenser facility. The successful candidate will oversee mechanical installation activities, ensuring works are delivered safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project specifications and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate mechanical installation works across the project.

  • Oversee steel piping fabrication and installation activities.

  • Manage the assembly and installation of synchronous condensers or similar rotating equipment, including gas turbines and associated auxiliary systems.

  • Coordinate subcontractors and site teams to ensure work is completed to programme requirements.

  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, quality, and environmental standards.

  • Monitor installation progress and resolve technical and construction issues.

  • Review drawings, specifications, and work packages to ensure correct execution.

  • Maintain accurate records and provide regular progress reporting.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Mechanical Supervisor on large-scale industrial, power generation, or energy infrastructure projects.

  • Strong background in steel piping systems and mechanical installation works.

  • Experience with synchronous condensers, gas turbines, or other large rotating equipment assemblies.

  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation.

  • Strong understanding of construction health and safety requirements and industry best practices.

  • Excellent leadership, communication, and coordination skills.

  • Experience managing subcontractors and multiple work fronts within a live construction environment.
